FutureHoop

FutureHoop Minis come taped with clear 3M tape, which has excellent grip and allows the remote control signal to pass through.

Each Classic LED hoop, Classic LED minis pair, and FutureHoop Shuffle come with sandpaper to add grip to your hoop exactly to your liking. *** Make sure your LED hoop is in the fully closed position before sanding. ***

Fire hoops and polypro day hoops also come with sandpaper to add grip to your hoop exactly to your liking.

The FutureHoop Pro and FutureHoop Remote hoops come standard with clear, extra grippy 3M tape.

Please refer to the specific Build Times posted on the FuturePoi page, FutureStaff page and the Shipping/Delivery times posted on the Shipping page for all other products from our Shop and for how soon you’ll need to order and when your package will be delivered.

Save time and funds by getting your beloved hooper or poi or staff spinner the size and style they want by asking questions up front. We’re happy to extend Exchange times for those who write in to us about it, but as always exchanged items need to be in brand new condition – which means not played with (pretty hard to do in the excitement of things), and in brand new, unused condition.

Special toys and props like these need extra info and consideration to make sure it’s exactly what is desired. Ask questions at home *first* then make your purchase.

Hoop sizing can be the most difficult to pinpoint, as there are many options, including the diameter, tubing type, color style, weight and functionality of the hoop. Hoop sizing is based largely on the hooping style and skill of the hooper, but knowing what size is the favorite for their main go-to hoop is a great place to start :) Do you know the size of the hoop that’s the current favorite?

When purchasing a hoop like the FutureHoop as a gift for someone else it’s always best to discuss with them directly about which exact size and tubing type they would like, or at least consult someone close to them who is familiar with what their preferences may be.

The size of the hoop is often the most important aspect of a big hoop purchase, like an LED hoop. Getting better at hooping eventually allows you to do more tricks and moves with smaller hoops. Measuring their favorite sized hoops is definitely be a good place to start, but as someone gets better they may want to size down to a smaller size. Since the hoops are not able to be resized, some hoopers will choose the next size smaller from their usual size for their FutureHoop or LED hoop purchase so they have something to work towards and a size they will be happy with for longer :) Check out this FAQ for Fire Hoops.

There are two different tubing types, HDPE and Polypro. HDPE is more durable, but Polypro is beloved by many hoopers as the more ‘expert’ material to be used. Depending on her hooping style, one tubing may be more desirable to her than another.

Hooping is a very personal experience and choosing a hoop also needs to be personalized. Please ask us any questions up front and we are more than happy to guide you with your purchase so you can get your sweet hooper just the hoop they are looking for :)

Looking to purchase a FuturePoi/Staff Attachment piece in a custom size? Please contact us through this form and we can answer any questions or send a custom FutureStaff invoice for the custom sized Staff attachment piece and other options.

Exchanges and Returns: All LED Hoop, LED Poi and LED Staff purchases made between mid-November and Christmas can be returned or exchanged beyond the normal 4 day period. Any returned or exchanged items must be in completely new condition and we must be contacted no later than 12/31/201. Damaged or used items may be subject to a restocking fee. Please handle all items to be sent in for Exchange or Return with care and contact us immediately.

MoodHoops Design Remote and Performance Remote

There are three different FutureHoops, the Shuffle, Remote and Pro. The FutureHoop Pro and FutureHoop Remote hoops use the same software and both come with remote controls. There is no difference in the patterns or usability between the Pro and Remote FutureHoops, the main difference is how the hoops are powered and charged, as well as the weight of the hoops.

The FutureHoop Remote and FutureHoop Shuffle weigh the same, as the way the hoop body is built is the same, even though the software is different. The FutureHoop Pro weighs on average approximately 2 ounces lighter than the other FutureHoops in the same size. You can view all the FutureHoop weights here: http://moodhoops.com/faqs/futurehoop-weights/

FutureHoop Shuffle:

The FutureHoop Shuffle changes the pattern, colors and animation style every 5-8 seconds in 3 of the 4 Special Modes, giving you hooping experience that is both familiar and refreshing. The on/off switch of the hoop is used to click through to the next Special Mode. The patterns shuffle continuously, but don’t allow stopping on a pattern, keeping the focus on a more ready-to-play design, so you can focus on your flow. There are 4 Special Modes in the FutureHoop Shuffle: Motif, Spiral, Iso, and Galaxy.

FutureHoop Remote & FutureHoop Shuffle Removable Battery design:

The FutureHoop Shuffle and Remote uses a removable battery design that allows you to swap in a new battery when the current one runs out of juice. Each battery will last 2-3 hours, depending on which Special Mode you’re in.

The removable battery design creates a break in the lights, as the battery is encased by an outer cuff.  To allow the battery to be removable, a slightly larger piece of tubing is used to encase the battery and is used as a closure for the hoop. You can also fully collapse this style of hoop, through this is done at your own risk, and may be especially risky in the smaller hoop diameters. Kinked or creased tubing is not covered by the warranty.

FutureHoop Remote:

The FutureHoop Remote uses the same remote controls as the FutureHoop Pro and comes with all of the same patterns and usability. The main difference is that the FutureHoop Pro has internal batteries and can only be recharged using a USB cord. The on/off mechanism, as well as the way to change through to the next Special Mode, even if you don’t have your remote controls, is to turn the hoop off and then on again. This will allow you to navigate through the click-through menus that are the Special Modes.

The FutureHoop Remote uses the same removable battery design as the FutureHoop Shuffle and all Classic LED Moodhoops. Because the battery is removable, this means you can continue hooping with full visuals as long as you have extra charged batteries on hand. You can also use the Brightness button on your remote controls to dim the lights and preserve the battery life.

FutureHoop Pro:

The FutureHoop Pro uses the same remote controls as the FutureHoop Remote and comes with all of the same patterns and usability. The FutureHoop Pro uses internal batteries that cannot be removed. The internal batteries allows this hoop to be on average 2 ounces lighter than its FutureHoop Remote counterpart in the same size.

This hoop is charged using mini USB, which can be done from your wall outlet, car charger or laptop/computer. Unlike the removable battery design that allows you to keep using the hoop as long as you have extra charged batteries, this hoop will need to be recharged every 2-5 hours, depending on the patterns being used. You can also use the Brightness button on your remote controls to dim the lights and preserve the battery life longer.

Now that the FutureHoop Remote hoop is released we will begin working on a programmable hoop that you can use to create your own patterns and upload custom logos.

The FutureHoop Remote and FutureHoop Pro use sensors to be able to pick up the button press signals from the remote controls. It’s best not to use regular grip tape with this hoop, as the grip tape (whether in black or white) blocks the signal and shortens the signal difference.

The FutureHoop Remote and FutureHoop Pro come with a special grippy tape that is mostly clear and allows the signal from the remote control through to the hoop.

FutureHoops that were not originally made as a FutureHoop Remote hoop cannot be upgraded to the new hoop. The components, build and programming are specific to the next generation FutureHoop design.

The current FutureHoop is not able to be upgraded to the next gen FutureHoop. The components, build and programming are specific to the next gen design. The FutureHoop with more control will be available in the next few months. Thanks so much for your interest :)

The internal components of the FutureHoop cannot fit into the ultra-thin 5/8″ OD tubing, so this size tubing will not be available for the FutureHoop.

FutureHoop Pro features a new lightweight build in ¾” tubing available in HDPE or Polypro. The weight difference between HDPE and Polypro in this lightweight build is fairly minimal, and we always recommend HDPE as the most durable tubing for your LED Hoop.

The original FutureHoop and FutureHoop Remote use a removable battery design, while the FutureHoop Pro uses internal batteries that are charged via USB. The FutureHoop was designed with power-saving in mind so you can keep hooping with full and bright animations hours into the night.

All MoodHoops use specialty lithium-ion batteries that have special safety considerations and care instructions. Please check out important information about Lithium-ion Battery Safety and Care: http://moodhoops.com/battery-safety

FutureHoop and FutureHoop Remote: (removable battery)

One battery will last 2-3 hours in your FutureHoop, depending on which mode it is on. The removable battery design lets you run full color visuals all night long!

FutureHoop and FutureHoop Remote features the same batteries and removable battery design as other MoodHoops, so you can keep changing out the battery without the need to stop hooping to charge your hoop. Each FutureHoop comes with 4 batteries, but only 1should be used at a time.

FutureHoops that use the remotes can increase battery life by turning down the Brightness!

FutureHoop Pro: (internal batteries) battery run time

Depending on the mode you’re in, the FutureHoop Pro can last 2-5 hours before it would need to be plugged in to charge.

In a FutureHoop Shuffle and FutureHoop Remote, one battery will last 2-3 hours, depending on which mode it is on, and starting from using a new, fully charged battery.

These specialty lithium-ion batteries are compatible with classic MoodHoops, so you can glow all night long with all your hoops.

Important Battery Safety and Care Information: http://moodhoops.com/battery-safety

Each FutureHoop model has a snap button closure so it can be opened, which allows the hoop to be collapsible, so it can be coiled down for travel. Depending on how comfortable you are collapsing your hoop will ultimately determine if it will be fully coiled down.

Collapsing your hoop should be done extremely carefully, as kinks or cracks in the tubing are not covered by the Warranty, and can damage your hoop.

Check out more information about the collapsible ability of all LED MoodHoops on our Hoop Features page: http://moodhoops.com/hoop-features/

The FutureHoop Remote and FutureHoop Pro allows you to change your hoop in time to music or seamlessly cue saved patterns at the timing of your choosing. The remote controls that come with these hoops give you direct control over timing changes.

The FutureHoop Shuffle remixes all the colors and effects every 5 to 8 seconds. It randomizes the change rate so that the changes don’t become predictable and boring. The goal of this hoop is to be just predictable enough that you can flow with it, but just surprising enough that you keep wanting to see what’s next :)

Rather than using static, predictable modes, the FutureHoop uses a variety of designs dynamically mixing with bold color palettes to create endless variety and unbelievable trails. There are well over a thousand combinations of patterns, color palettes, animation effects, and chaser effects.

With the FutureHoop Remote and FutureHoop Pro you have direct access to the patterns and Special Modes so you can edit the colors and animation effects at the press of a button.

Yes! The FutureHoop and FutureHoop Remote use the same specialty, removable lithium-ion batteries as classic MoodHoops. The small (blue) lithium-ion batteries are the size that the FutureHoop Shuffle and FutureHoop Remote uses.

FutureHoop and FutureHoop Remote uses only one battery at a time, but 4 batteries and a charger are included with each size FutureHoop, so you can keep glowing through the night.

Important Information about Battery Safety: http://moodhoops.com/battery-safety

The FutureHoop Pro features a lightweight build construction that uses internal, non-removable lithium-ion batteries. This hoop build only charges with a USB charger.

The new FutureHoop Remote and FutureHoop Pro gives you two remote controls to stop the shuffle, create custom Color Palettes, save your favorites, and cue changes in time to a beat.

The FutureHoop Shuffle is designed to continually animate and morph by itself so you can focus on your flow. It has been meticulously refined to generate awesome combinations of geometric patterns, attractive color palettes, and high-speed chaser effects. There are thousands of possible combinations that ensure each dance with your FutureHoop is both familiar and refreshing.

The FutureHoop Warranty is listed on the Moodhoops Warranty page here: http://moodhoops.com/warranty

All FutureHoop Remote and FutureHoop Pro hoops will be shipped according to the stated time on the FutureHoop page only.

The original FutureHoop can ship out quickly according to the regular times listed on the Shipping page.

All orders with FutureHoops will be shipped with Signature Confirmation.

FutureHoops will be available in custom sizes after the New Year.

FutureHoop Pro features a no battery-gap design and internal batteries that charge via USB. At the the on/off closure there is one small segment of lights removed to make room for the switch. The brightness of the lights and movement of the hoop make this hard to see for most patterns and especially when the hoop is in motion.

FutureHoop and FutureHoop Remote have a battery gap where the removable battery is able to be changed out. This removable battery design lets you run full color visuals all night long as long as you have new batteries.

Each FutureHoop and FutureHoop Remote is shipped with four batteries, which are compatible with your regular MoodHoop, and a wall charger. FutureHoop patterns are designed with the gap in mind to create an attractive negative space effect.

You can see a photo of the removable battery design, and the great benefits, on our MoodHoops Hoop Features page.

We offer 3 distinct LED hoop categories, Classic MoodHoops, the FutureHoop and Festival Hoops, and each one comes with it’s own battery kit.

Classic MoodHoops and minis – each Large 38″ OD & XL 42″ OD Classic hoop in 7/8″ tubing comes with one large battery and one charger. All other sizes come with two small batteries and one charger.

FutureHoop – each FutureHoop comes with 4 small rechargeable lithium-ion batteries and one charger.

Festival Hoops – each Festival Hoop comes with one rechargeable lithium-ion battery and charger.

Important note: NEVER USE TWO BATTERIES IN ANY OF THE HOOPS AT ONCE!
Multiple batteries are just for swapping out so you can keep glowing!

We’re unable to resize the hoops, as the LED spacing (Classic LED MoodHoops), LED programming (FutureHoops), build method and counterweights are set specifically to each size.

We have seen quite a few successful transactions of hoopers selling their used LED MoodHoops through our Facebook page though! With an audience of 65,000+ and growing, there’s sure to be a happy hopper who would love to get your hoop at a discounted price :)

We also have a MoodHoops Tumblr that you can post your hoop. Send us your LED Hoop for sale Post as an “Ask” or a submission and we’ll reblog/post it so other hoopers can check it out :)

Feel free to post on both places to increase the chances of a quick sale!

Batteries

Battery Care

Moodhoops use specialty lithium-ion batteries that have enough power to light up your hoop. These batteries are not sold in local stores and we only recommend using batteries from our online shop in your Moodhoop.

The rechargeable batteries that come with your hoop are consumable and will need to be replaced over time. Keep in mind the following points to maximize the life of your battery:

  • Do not allow your battery to sit without getting charged for extended periods of time. A battery that has sat without getting charged for a long time will lose its capacity. Keep your batteries charged in between hooping sessions.
  • Keep your batteries in a battery case when being transported or when not inside the hoop.
  • Avoid throwing or dropping batteries to keep the plastic in tact.
  • Avoid hooping with the battery in the hoop in the off position.

For batteries that are not cared for in the above description, it’s not uncommon for them to last only a few months or after only a few uses.

All FuturePoi models come with 4 Special Modes. FuturePoi Remote & XL give you a 5th Special Mode where you can save your own patterns. Using the randomization features from the remote version gives you more control over the multitude of combinations.

By clicking the poi on and off again, or using the remote, you can cycle through to the next Special Mode in the following order:

  • Motif – Inspired by traditional art motifs with a splash of 8-bit iconography. Dynamic colors and effects layer to create endless variations and unbelievable trails.

  • Waveform – Geometric waveforms produce mind-bending patterns that look great in orbitals and tight spins. Consumes very little power so your battery lasts longer.

  • Motif Chaining – Stitches Motifs and Waveforms together into a repeating chain to produce endlessly fresh visualizations and never before seen combinations.

  • Galaxy – A smooth and constant rainbow ripple to allow for mellow moods and flow-focused routines. Hypnotic and calming, whether still or in motion.
  • Saved Presets – Special Mode only in FuturePoi Remote and XL. Save your favorite Motifs and Waveforms and this mode will let you Shuffle them. Seamlessly cue your next Saved Preset to a beat or on command.
  • Sync Mode – Special Mode only in FuturePoi Remote and XL. A pre-randomized set of patterns allows your both FuturePoi and FutureStaff to have identical displays in the patterns and colors so you can get the symmetrical changes between the two poi units, as well as sync up your props with anyone else’s FuturePoi or FutureStaff Remote or XL. You can reach Sync Mode by either the remote or by the Click-Through menu.

Yes, the FuturePoi are constructed using high-quality materials and have a poly-carbonate outer casing. The poi have been thoroughly impact-tested and have had excellent durability results.

The FuturePoi are not waterproof or fireproof. Water or fire damage are not covered by the warranty.

Yes, the cord that comes with the FuturePoi can be easily detached from the metal ring at the top and custom cords or chains can be added.

Battery Run time for all FuturePoi models:

  • Waveform – 22 hours
  • Motif Chaining – 10 hours
  • Galaxy – 8 hours
  • Saved – varies depending on settings (Remote and Remote XL only)

Charging: Rechargeable via USB micro connection. Charger and USB micro cables included to charge both poi simultaneously. Car charger is also included so you can charge on the go.

Small Future Poi

FuturePoi Remote XL

  • Small Poi Weight: 4.6 oz

  • Small Poi Height: 8 inches

  • Small Poi Width: 1.25 inches

  • Small Poi Display: Each poi contains 40 LEDs with the graphics drawn in 20 lines of resolution.

  • XL Poi Weight: 7.1 oz.

  • XL Poi Height: 14.25 inches

  • XL Poi Width: 1.25 inches

  • XL Poi Display: Each poi contains 80 LEDs with the graphics drawn in 40 lines of resolution.

We don’t offer weights for the FuturePoi at this time.

The FuturePoi and FuturePoi Remote are both 8 inches long. Each poi contains 40 LEDs total, with the graphics drawn in 20 lines of resolution.

The FuturePoi Remote XL are 16 inches long, which is double the length of the smaller FuturePoi. Each XL poi contains 80 LEDs total, with the graphics drawn in 40 lines of resolution.

FuturePoi Remote XL uses 3 drawing modes to take advantage of the extra length: Double Size, Mirror Top, and Mirror Bottom.

The Waveform Theme uses only one LED at a time to create clean, geometric lightscapes and gives you extended glow time. You can see several Waveforms in the middle of the FuturePoi release video.

FuturePoi can chain Motifs and generate endless color palettes colors to produce hundreds of distinct visualizations. The FuturePoi uses the Motif Chaining Theme to combine Motifs together for never before seen patterns. There are literally thousands of combinations of settings!

Yes! There are a couple of ways to sync your FuturePoi. The FuturePoi Remote and XL models come with a remote control to give you more fine-grained control over the change speed, patterns displayed, as well as 12 Save slots for Motifs or Waveforms, and 2 Save slots for Motif Chaining.

Even without use of a remote, all FuturePoi models are designed so both units have the ability to sync certain patterns and changes every 5 seconds by using the Click-through Menu by turning each unit off and then back on again.

When in the Motif menu, at each pattern change the animation settings are randomized between the two units separately, so there will be a variance of color and the “stretch” of the pattern being displayed on the two separate units.

By turning both units on at the same time, in the same pattern menu, this allows you to sync up the pattern changes in the pair. The remote control allows you to alter the tempo of the pattern change from than every 5 seconds. You can choose when the patterns change to a beat, or make you can make a change happen on cue.

The FuturePoi also come with Sync Mode. This pre-randomized set of patterns allows your poi to have identical displays in the pattern, color, and stretch of the image, so you can get the symmetrical changes between the two poi units. You can reach Sync Mode by either the remote or by the Click-Through menu.

The remotes also work on all other FuturePoi units! Line up all the FuturePoi you are trying to sync together and use the remote to create settings on all of them at once.

In the standard build FuturePoi, the graphical settings randomize the click-through modes and shuffle the pattern continuously every 5 seconds. The pattern generator shuffles automatically so you can focus on your flow. The poi are turned Off then On again to change modes. To control the change rate, animation speed and color settings, get the FuturePoi Remote.

To sync up change rate of the FuturePoi without a remote, simply turn them on at the same time in the same Special Mode.

Motif Chaining mode is always generating a new motif chain and each poi will display a different set of visual parameters each time it changes. This mode stitches Motifs and Waveforms together into a repeating chain to produce endlessly fresh visualizations and never before seen combinations.

Also check out the following FAQ for more info: Can you sync up the FuturePoi?

Maybe someday, but we currently have no plans to release the Future code.

In order to focus on durability and beginner friendliness, FuturePoi do not have a programming port. We are not able to add custom patterns, our microchips are full for now!

Fire Hoops

The Five Wick Fire Hoop is able to open and partially collapse, but is not able to fully collapse like a Moodhoops LED hoop.

Each of the hoop options available with the Five Wick Fire Hoop have an inner sleeve that cannot take the pressure from the hoop being collapsed and locked into place. Fully collapsing and closing the hoop will cause the inner sleeve to kink.

The locking snap button allows the hoop to be opened and partially collapsed, but the hoop should not be coiled and locked into place for storage. A kinked inner sleeve is not covered by Warranty.

We recommend using zip ties or some other sturdy method to partially collapse your hoop into a circular shape for storage or travel.

The 38” OD and 40” OD hoop options for the Five Wick Fire Hoop come in larger and slightly heavier 7/8” tubing, which is the largest tubing width we carry. Add extra weight and grip onto your hoop by adding different tapes for grip and decoration. The more tape added, the more your hoop will weigh :)

Five unused Fire Wicks weigh approx 8 ounces total, not including the weight of fuel.
Add 8 ounces onto the weight of one of the hoop sizes and tubing types below.
Each individual Fire Wick weighs 1.6 ounces.

HDPE Hoop Weights

  • 40” OD in 7/8” =
  • 38” OD in 7/8” =
  • 38” OD in 3/4’ =
  • 36” OD in 3/4” =
  • 33” OD in 3/4” =

(One HDPE hoop is included with the purchase of five Fire Wicks)

Polypro Hoop Weights for 3/4″ tubing

  • 42″ OD = 9.2oz
  • 38″ OD = 8.4oz
  • 36″ OD = 8.2oz
  • 33″ OD = 7.2oz
  • 30″ OD = 6.4oz
  • 20″ OD = 3.6oz each mini

(clear and color tubing weigh the same)

OD = Outer Diameter

It’s good to purchase a hoop size that is closest to the size of the hoop that you’re most comfortable with your regular hoop size. The Fire Wicks will add about 5 inches to each end of the hoop, for a total of 10 inches added to the clearance of your hoop. Your regular sized hoop or a hoop little smaller is a good option for choosing a size.
