OD - Outer Diameter

The current FutureHoop is designed to continually animate and morph by itself so you can focus on your flow. It has been meticulously refined to generate awesome combinations of geometric patterns, attractive color palettes, and high-speed chaser effects. There are thousands of possible combinations that ensure each dance with your FutureHoop is both familiar and refreshing.

We have a hoop in the works that addresses the need for fine-grained control, but at the moment we just wanted to create a hoop experience that is effortless and accessible to everyone.

One battery will last 2-3 hours in your FutureHoop, depending on which mode it is on. The FutureHoop features the same removable battery design as other MoodHoops, so you can keep changing out the battery without the need to stop hooping to charge your hoop.

The FutureHoop was designed with power-saving in mind so you can keep hooping with full and bright animations many hours into the night, or through a long weekend. Each FutureHoop comes with 4 batteries, but only one should be used at a time. These li-ion batteries are compatible with classic MoodHoops, so you can glow all night long with all your MoodHoops.

The internal components of the FutureHoop cannot fit into the ultra-thin 5/8″ OD tubing, so this size tubing will not be available for the FutureHoop. We are working on an ultra lightweight version of the FutureHoop that would have a different build style than the Classic MoodHoop outer cuff and will focus specifically on an extra light feel to the hoop. This Ultra-Lite FutureHoop will still be made in 3/4″ tubing and is in the works. Stay tuned to our Facebook and Newsletter to get updates when it’s released.

Rather than using static, predictable modes, the FutureHoop uses a variety of designs dynamically mixing with bold color palettes to create endless variety and unbelievable trails.  There are well over a thousand combinations of patterns, color palettes, animation effects, and chaser effects.  These are grouped into the three main Themes: Motif, Spiral and Iso.

We have a hoop in the works that addresses the need for fine-grained control, but at the moment we just wanted to create a hoop experience that is effortless and accessible to everyone.

The hoop will remix all the colors and effects every 5 to 8 seconds.  It randomizes the time so that the changes don’t become predictable and boring.  The goal of this hoop is to be just predictable enough that you can flow with it, but just surprising enough that you keep wanting to see what’s next

The current FutureHoop is not able to be upgraded to the next gen FutureHoop. The components, build and programming are specific to the next gen design. The FutureHoop with more control will be available in the next few months. Thanks so much for your interest

There is a battery gap where the removable battery is able to be changed out. This removable battery design lets you run full color visuals all night long. Each FutureHoop is shipped with four batteries, which are compatible with your regular MoodHoop. A lot of our patterns are designed with the gap in mind to create an attractive negative space effect.

Yes! The FutureHoop uses the same li-ion batteries as your MoodHoop Though the Future hoop uses only one battery at a time, 4 batteries are included with each size FutureHoop, so you can keep glowing through the night.

Please note that return shipping for the FutureHoop is covered by the customer for all repairs, warranty fixes, exchanges and returns. We cannot be responsible for lost packages, please always add Insurance to return shipments.

There’s not one single answer to that question, but it’s partially dependent on skill level. The golden rule of hoop sizing is: bigger, heavier hoops are easier to keep up and slower to hoop with. Smaller hoops are lighter and more versatile for dance moves, but more challenging to keep up while core hooping.

PolyPro is great for day hoops because it is lighter by volume than normal HDPE tubing. This gives you a silky-smooth, lightning-fast hoop for practice and performance. For LED hoops however, it has some disadvantages that you should be aware of.

• Since LED hoops have batteries and counterweights inside, the lightness of PolyPro is not as noticeable.
• Whereas HDPE tubing is flexible and absorbs impacts well, PolyPro is brittle and prone to cracking on impacts or when extremely flexed. The added weight of LEDs, batteries, and counterweights only increases the chance of cracking.

Please understand that we can’t Warranty used, cracked PolyPro LED hoops for free, but we are happy to refresh your tubing for a fee. If you are at all unsure about whether you want a PolyPro LED hoop, just get a normal hoop! There’s a reason why HDPE is our default for LED hoops, while PolyPro is our default for lightweight day hoops

The Festival Hoop uses the same great build features as a classic MoodHoop, with a removable battery & fully collapsible design, but uses a regular rechargeable or non-rechargeable battery.

Festival Hoops use less power, by using less LEDs, and work with normal household batteries, which makes them great for beginners, outdoor events or all-night parties.

With Festival Hoops you can use rechargeable NiMh AA batteries, which are readily available and less expensive than the lithium ion batteries used to light up a classic MoodHoop.

Classic MoodHoop features:

• uses li-ion battery only (should only be purchased from our online store)
• comes in many sizes and colors
• customizable
• more LEDs
• good battery life
• comes with grip tape along inner ring

Festival Hoop features:

• uses regular rechargeable AA batteries that can be purchased anywhere

• no tape, sanded along inner ring for grip

One size and style simplicity is what helps us to keep the price low for this great hoop. This hoop is a fun, durable build that’s great for a beginner, children, or as an inexpensive hoop to take to festivals and events.

MoodHoops measures all hoops and tubing thicknesses using the Outer Diameter measurement (OD). Since tubing has both an Outer Diameter and an Inner Diameter, you may see other hoop companies refer to sizes by ID rather than OD. If you are unsure about how to convert the size, please contact us with your desired measurement and tubing thickness and we will help you convert it

There are a couple of options that may work well for your hooping little one LED hoops are such an extra special treat for children and can inspire them and give motivation to learn new tricks and keep going with hooping.

Festival Hoops
We have recently added a new product to our line of LED hoops called the Festival Hoop. This hoop uses the latest in battery technology so it can run off of normal AA store-bought batteries. These hoops have 12 LEDs and are in the $48 to $60 price range. One size and style simplicity is what allows us to offer a quality LED hoop at this wonderfully low price. Being less expensive than our classic MoodHoops, this is a good choice for outdoor events, beginners and children

XL Beginner Hoop
Another option is one of our taped Beginner Hoops. The Beginner Hoop in the XL size breaks down into segments and turns into a 34″ OD hoop when one segment is removed. This XL size would be great as an option that can work out both for adult guests that are beginner hoopers, as well as the small 34″ OD size for your munchkin Please note that if one of the segments are removed and the hoop is stored in this tighter shape the tubing well become more curved and will take extra time to restore it to its original shape when the last segment is added back in.

Classic MoodHoops
Our classic MoodHoops line offers lots of variety in colors and sizes. The 20-24 LED options that come in the standard sizes give the hoops an extra full and bright effect. The price range for these hoops are $69 to $144 and use a specialty rechargeable lithium-ion battery only. The classic MoodHoops have sizing options ranging from 30″ to 42″ outer diameter, and customizability.

The 33″ classic MoodHoop size is smaller, lighter and more flexible, but the lightness makes it challenging to keep up. By contrast, the larger 36″ and 38″ hoops have more momentum when spinning, which makes them easier to keep up. The 36″ hoop is somewhere in between, and may be a good bet for children 10 and under.

The golden rule of hoop sizing is: Bigger, heavier hoops are easier at first, but smaller and lighter hoops allow for more tricks and dance moves. For more details about sizing, and a hoop tubing reference chart, please visit to our Hoop Sizing Guide page.

LED hoops are meant to be operated by adults. Insertion, removal, and charging of the batteries should only be done by adults. Like any exercise toy, overuse or careless use could result in personal injury.

We’re unable to re-size the hoops, as the LED spacing, build method and counterweights are set specifically to each size.

We have seen a few successful transactions of hoopers selling their used Moodhoop through our Facebook page though! Each of the standard build, full-size (33″, 36″, 38″, 42″) LED Moodhoops are collapsible for storage or travel Check out the video below on how to coil down your Moodhoop.

Since the hoops open up, you can still partially collapse the hoop if you’re unsure about fully coiling it. Once the hoop is partially collapsed you can add zip ties in several places along the coiled tubing to keep it in a coiled shape. Please remember that kinked or cracked tubing is not covered by our warranty, so coiling your hoop should be done carefully and is at your own risk. If your tubing needs to be replaced just write in to us and we’re happy to get you fixed up and sent back to you quickly Check out the picture below to see a partially collapsed and zip-tied PolyPro hoop.

If you’re having difficulty closing your hoop, there’s an easy fix for this Hard to see dirt or debris can get into the hoop where it slides in, causing the hoop to become difficult to open or close.

First take a moment to clean out the inner part of the outer cuff from any debris. Also wipe off the part of the hoop that slips into the outer cuff. Then take a small amount of Vaseline and apply it to the part of the hoop that slides into the cuff. Move it back and forth a couple of times and it should be able to slide easier. This little bit of cleaning and maintenance should make the tightness go away

Please give this a try, as this is what will make it easier in most cases. It’s also good to check the shape of the tubing on the part of the hoop body that slips into the outer cuff. If the tubing end was compressed for some reason, this could also be why it’s become more difficult. To fix this, use your hands, or someone with a strong grip, to squeeze the end of the tubing in the opposite direction of the mis-shaped part. Meaning, if the tube end is slightly oval-shaped, squeeze it in the direction so that the ends sticking out are getting pushed back in to make a more complete circle.

The special design of our line of Festival Hoops allows for long lasting LEDs and the ability that no other professionally-made LED hoop company has – the ability to be powered by a single rechargeable NiMh AA battery. This is the only LED hoop that we offer that can use a normal, store-bought battery.

Classic MoodHoops and the FutureHoop use only a specialty lithium-ion battery that cannot be purchased locally. These batteries have more voltage than regular, store-bought batteries and should never be put into any other device. Yes, all MoodHoops use rechargeable Li-Ion batteries. Remember that even rechargeable batteries have a limited lifespan. You should purchase backup batteries so you’re never out of charge at a bad moment (like during a night out dancing, or while entertaining friends).

We offer 3 distinct LED hoop categories, Classic MoodHoops, the FutureHoop and Festival Hoops, and each one comes with it’s own battery kit.

Classic MoodHoops and minis – each Large 38″ OD & XL 42″ OD Classic hoops in 7/8″ tubing come with one large battery and one charger. All other sizes come with two small batteries and one charger.

FutureHoop – each FutureHoop comes with 4 small batteries and one charger.

Festival Hoops – each Festival Hoop comes with one rechargeable NiMh AA battery. These hoops work with any NiMh AA battery, or a disposable (alkaline) AA, but the NiMh has longer battery life. The charger is not included, but a separate single NiMh & charger battery kit can be purchased on any of the Festival Hoop product pages.

Important note: NEVER USE TWO BATTERIES IN ANY OF THE HOOPS AT ONCE!
Multiple batteries are just for swapping out so you can keep glowing!

Yes! That just means your battery is almost done charging, and it will soon be fully green

It’s good to purchase a hoop size that is closest to the size of the hoop that you’re most comfortable with your regular hoop size. The Fire Wicks will add about 5 inches to each end of the hoop, for a total of 10 inches added to the clearance of your hoop. Your regular sized hoop or a hoop little smaller is a good option for choosing a size.

The Five Wick Fire Hoop is able to open and partially collapse, but is not able to fully collapse like a Moodhoops LED hoop.

Each of the hoop options available with the Five Wick Fire Hoop have an inner sleeve that cannot take the pressure from the hoop being collapsed and locked into place. Fully collapsing and closing the hoop will cause the inner sleeve to kink.

The locking snap button allows the hoop to be opened and partially collapsed, but the hoop should not be coiled and locked into place for storage. A kinked inner sleeve is not covered by Warranty.

We recommend using zip ties or some other sturdy method to partially collapse your hoop into a circular shape for storage or travel.

The 38” OD and 40” OD hoop options for the Five Wick Fire Hoop come in larger and slightly heavier 7/8” tubing, which is the largest tubing width we carry. Add extra weight and grip onto your hoop by adding different tapes for grip and decoration. The more tape added, the more your hoop will weigh

Yes! Though PayPal is our payment processor, you don’t need a PayPal account to check out with a standard credit or debit card.

Yes, we accept Returns and Exchanges for unused merchandise. The policies are listed in detail below, but please use the Exchanges and Returns form to apply for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA).

Return postage is paid by the customer and must be postmarked within 4 days of the Delivery Confirmation date and meet all our return policy terms, listed below.

A $15.00 Return/Exchange Fee must be supplied by the Customer. If you are exchanging, any additional costs due to a different size or color will be added onto your fee.

Refunds:  If the returned hoop is accepted, we will refund the paid merchandise price to you, minus a $10 restock fee.  $5 of your Return/Exchange Fee will be included in the refund amount back to you.  Shipping is non-refundable.  We can only issue refunds to the card/account that was used to make the purchase.

Determining if the merchandise is damaged is at our sole discretion. We cannot accept used or damaged merchandise for return or exchange. Scratched or scuffed tubing makes a hoop not eligible for return or exchange.

If you suspect the item might be coming back for a return, only use the hoop on carpet. We cannot accept returns that have scratched or kinked tubing, or tubing with dirt or sand inside.

You must contact us for a RMA # (Return Merchandise Authorization).  In the RMA email we will discuss whether the merchandise is a return or an exchange and what steps will need to be taken.

LED hoops:
All items received in the original package must be returned, including the hoop, battery and charger.  The merchandise must be securely packaged in a box that will not allow the hoop to get kinked or damaged during shipment.

Custom hoops and Remix hoops are considered final sale are not eligible for return or exchange.

Fire hoops:
New, unused Fire Wicks can be returned for a restock fee of $2.00 per each wick. There is a $15 restock fee if a Five Wick Fire Hoop is sent in for return.

Once a Five Wick Fire Hoop is received, we cannot exchange the size of the hoop included with the Five Wick Fire Hoop. A new hoop size can be purchased and the hoop included with the Five Wick Fire Hoop can be used as a practice hoop

Please understand that returns and exchanges are very costly for us, as our hoops are currently priced to pass all savings directly on to our customers.  If you would like to return a hoop, all the above conditions must be fulfilled. We hope to make it so our customers love their hoop just as it is and don’t want to put it down
