Juny -
I'm Juny, a content creator primarily on YouTube. During high school I picked up the leviwand which opened up possibilities I had never even thought of. I came up with many new technical and gymnastics tricks which you can add to your arsenal. I make tutorials for beginners, videos about flow art, fun and relatable shorts. Last year I received my Silver Play Button for surpassing 100k subscribers. My main goal is to grow the flow art community and make exercising fun!

My favourite prop is the contact levitation wand, but I also use long string wand and veil poi sometimes. I recently discovered the flow star which has so much potential.
My style is explosive, rhythmic, expressive combination of flow arts and gymnastics, covering a lot of literal ground. I'm inspired by any hobbies based on visually pleasing movements: circus arts, magic, cardistry, dancing or baton twirling.
I got my first leviwand on the Christmas of 2020 after seeing a video featuring the prop. Being a gymnast, the idea of combining flexibility and acrobatic tricks with artistic movements of the leviwand came naturally. Soon after, I discovered the flow art community and started posting videos online.

What advice would you give to someone just starting their flow journey? Which tutorials or guiding principles helped you along the way?

Let go of your preconceptions of the wand. I mean actually let go of the wand itself too, throw it in the air, make it spin! Don't limit yourself by holding onto the string at all times. Also watch a bunch of tutorials about the same trick (like I did), since everyone has a different approach and teaching style. And most importantly, don't forget to catch. 🙂
I took part in an Instagram challenge which helped me keep posting even when I felt insecure and made me learn all the basics quickly.
Seeing others overcome their own vulnerability and support each other gave me the courage that I needed. I wish to be a positive driving force to the community like that, and inspire others to think outside of the box.
