4 Orange LEDs? Calibrate Motion Sensor
If your FutureHoop Designer or FutureFans displays four orange LEDs, your prop is not broken. The orange lights mean that the motion sensor needs to be recalibrated.
The motion sensor helps your hoop or fans detect its position and movement. This gyroscope feature is used by motion-reactive patterns, but the calibration signal may appear even when you are not actively using a motion mode.
Install the Latest Firmware First
Before recalibrating your hoop, make sure that you have installed the latest FutureHoop Designer firmware software.
The current firmware includes a fix that prevents the hoop/fans from losing its motion-sensor calibration again after the calibration process is completed.
- Download the latest FutureHoop Designer firmware.
- Follow the instructions in our FutureHoop Designer firmware update guide.
- Once the update is complete, follow the calibration steps below.
How to Recalibrate Your Hoop/Fans
- Place the hoop/fan flat on the ground.
- Turn the hoop/fan on while it is resting flat.
- Pick up the hoop/fan and slowly rotate it through several different positions.
- Hold the hoop/fan briefly in each position so the motion sensor can recalibrate.
- Continue rotating the hoop/fan as shown in the video below.
The four orange LEDs should disappear once the calibration process is complete.

Still Seeing Four Orange LEDs?
If the orange LEDs remain visible after calibration:
- Confirm that you installed the latest FutureHoop Designer firmware before recalibrating.
- Turn the hoop/fan off and repeat the process, starting with the hoop/fan flat on the ground.
- Move slowly through several different orientations while calibrating.
- Contact us if the four orange LEDs continue to appear after trying these steps.
