About The Creator ~ Anna : Hoop Therapist
Anna’s hula hoop journey began in January 2014 when she was inspired to pick up the hoop after seeing a fellow festival-goer flowing at Bonnaroo the summer before. After her first spin, she quickly became obsessed. Her job at the time as a massage therapist allowed her extra free time to dedicate to her practice, hooping for hours daily. She watched YouTube tutorials, flow videos, and anything she could get her hands on to learn more about hooping. This new way of movement quickly turned into a passion. When traveling hoop instructors came into town, she would always try to attend, meeting local hoopers and learning new tricks.
Then, in 2016, she decided to start performing. She auditioned with a friend and made it into the Electric Forest Hoop Troupe that year. She performed at Hulaween that fall, which sparked her hoop performance opportunities. Since then, she has performed at various shows and retreats across the U.S. In 2017, she decided she wanted to teach others what she knew and loved about hooping. She became a Hoop Love Coach, earning a teacher certification from Deanne Love. She started her career as a hoop instructor, traveling to Memphis to teach her first out-of-town workshop.
In 2018, she decided to quit massage therapy to focus on hooping full-time. Continuing her journey as a hoop instructor, she taught at various hoop retreats and flow festivals across the U.S. and Canada. When the COVID-19 pandemic shut the world down in 2020, she decided to create tutorials for Instagram and her YouTube channel. This helped her stay connected to the hoop community and inspire others on their hula hoop journey as well. Fast forward to 2024, she is now a mom to a beautiful little girl and continues her teaching career by creating online courses and instructing at various hoop retreats around the world.
