Beginner hoops are a great choice if you are just starting out hooping, or like to use larger hoops for your flow. They are made with 1" OD (outer diameter) tubing, which is thicker and heavier than the tubing used for our LED hoops. Breaks down into segments for travel.
The larger and heavier a hoop is, the more slowly it will travel around your body. The slower movement gives more time to feel where the hoop is making contact, and to react to keep the hoop spinning.
Since they spin around your body more slowly, large hoops are great for beginners or for practicing new moves. They are also wonderful for exercise, as the added weight of the hoop engages your core during waist hooping. The extra weight will also give the hoop more momentum once in motion, making it easier to keep up.
Waist hooping can be quite meditative with a slower hoop, allowing you to relax into a routine and enjoy simpler moves while focusing on strengthening your core and keeping the hoop in place.
A 39" OD Beginner Hoop weighs about 1 lb, and a 42" OD Beginner hoop is 1 lb, 3 oz. OD means "outer diameter" and is the distance across the widest part of the hoop, including the width of the tubing.
