What size battery should I get for my LED hoop?

MoodHoops are most commonly built in 3/4 and 5/8 tubing. If you have a hoop with 7/8″ tubing from pre-2016, or a custom hoop, scroll down for more info.

14500 Batteries (AA-sized) are compatible with:

FutureHoops in 3/4″ tubing made before July 2019
PixelHoop in 3/4″ tubing
Classic LED MoodHoops in 3/4″ tubing and 7/8″ tubing (post-2016)

If your hoop is not listed above then use 10440 rechargeable hoop batteries.

10440 Batteries (AAA-sized) are compatible with:

All 3/4″ FutureHoops made after July 2019
All 5/8″ removable-battery FutureHoops
Pixelhoop in 5/8″ tubing
Classic LED Hoops in 5/8″ tubing

If your hoop is not listed above then use 14500 rechargeable hoop batteries.

Over the years, Moodhoops have come in 3 tubing thicknesses: 5/8″ – 3/4″ – 7/8″

Most common tubing sizes used for Moodhoops are 3/4″ and 5/8″ tubing

Larger 18650 batteries (pictured below) were used only for 38″ hoops or bigger that used 7/8″ tubing.

7/8″ hoops made before June 2016 use a 18650 battery.

7/8″ hoops made after June 2016 use a AA-sized (14500) battery.

18650 batteries are not currently for sale on the website, but we do not recommend using a lithium-ion battery purchased from elsewhere, as they most likely do not have a protection circuit.
