Kirby Bright - Greenville, SC
Kirby Bright is a musician and flow artist from Greenville, SC. He first found flow in 2010 when someone handed him glow sticks on shoestrings at a show. Hooked, he made sock poi and learned the basics from some friends.
As his skills grew, he began performing with fire and joined The Sekret Cirkus out of Greenville. With them, he performed at private events, renaissance fairs, and festivals alongside other flow artists.
Always tinkering, Kirby built his own prop: a mini hoop with three upward fire wicks and fabric in the center. He dubbed it the “flowpie,” like a fire pizza.
Around 2013, longtime friend and Cheeryfoot owner, Allison Yang, invited him on the road. He vended hoops, performed on a balance board, spun the flowpie, juggled, and helped draw crowds to her booth at festivals across the US.
Kirby fell in love with translating poi technique into double hoops, fusing speed, tech, and a parkour-like approach. His style is best known for flowers, one-arm two-hoop patterns, backspin dog walkers on any platform, fast switch-ups, and high tosses.
That path eventually led to a decade of touring the festival circuit with his solo project and live band, flowing whenever he could and teaching anyone that wanted to learn. The flow community was his first love, and he’s grateful it’s always been an inclusive space for all walks of life.
