Allie Garrison - Denver, Colorado
Allieflowz (aka @cirqueduallie online) is a Denver-based flow artist whose journey began with a single hoop back in 2018 and grew into a passion for circus and flow arts as a whole. Hula hooping was the first time that she felt she could actually dance and it sparked a sense of confidence and excitement. Movement arts have given her a healthy outlet for expression and she believes in its ability to promote wellbeing and reduce anxiety. When she's not flowing, she is a full-time student and fur mom to 3 fur and 2 scale babies (a cat, guinea pig, chinchilla, and crested geckos)!

Allie's main props are hoops, fans, and poi. She dabbles in juggling, double staves, fire eating and breathing, and aerial arts.
Follow her on instagram to catch an assortment of different tutorials as well as fun flow videos and progress reels.
If you're local to Denver, find her spinning fire at the Monday night flow jams at the Denver Circus Collective!
One of her favorite aspects of the flow community is how everyone can learn from each other. There are an infinite amount of tricks to be discovered and skill sharing is a fun way to see each other's styles and inspire new ways of doing things.
Allie would describe her flow as a more technical style with a focus on patterns. Making puzzles of trick combinations in her head and practicing to execute them is one of her favorite ways of learning new sequences.
In 2018, her life was changed forever when she was first introduced to flow arts when stumbling upon a tech hoop dance video on Instagram by an Australian hula-hooper named Charissa Deville. She proceeded to buy her first hoop on etsy and began watching Deanne Love tutorials on youtube!
Her advice for someone just starting out with flow arts would be to have fun, practice as often as you can in small increments, watch yourself in a mirror, and practice one hand drills. You can truly master any prop, learn any trick, etc as long as you practice and keep trying because it is all based on muscle memory and neural pathways! I always say "just go to sleep and you'll have it in the morning!".
